So I leave my house in my 2006 S (Titanium Edition) and I get about 300 meters from my driveway when I hear a clunk as I as accelerating from a stop.

Immediately after I get these errors:

PSM Failure

Brake Proportioning

Low Oil

Tach wildly fluctuating

I pull over and shut off the car to avoid further damage. When I try to restart, same errors as well the car says press brake pedal, which I did.

No Start

Battery was replaced 4 months ago so I know its good. Had the oil changed 2 weeks ago by indy.

Need to call AAA to get it towed to dealership.

Just curious what anyone might think happened ... and how much lighter my wallet might feel at the end.

Very hard to say what happened without more data. Battery 4 months old can fail just the same as 4 year old battery so age isn't a indication of worth.

So I am going to bring the Cayenne to the dealer today...flat bed of course.

Depending on the repair, I may also try to negotiate a price to replace the plastic coolant pipes. What should be my price point?

Thnx

Pipes done by a dealer? Anything under $2k is a deal. There are independents in NJ who will do it for less.

I have an indy who does some of my work but he is a one man show. Very hard to schedule.

Re my car... Dealership called and said it is a canbus error. He asked if I added anything new lately. I told his LED lights and a Bluetooth receiver but that was months ago. Could one of those cause so many problems?

So my dealer just got back to me. The problem is that a Tyco cutoff switch went and the airbag control unit. Toal cost $2,200 for the repair.

Does this make sense with the symtoms I described above, including the clunk I head just before things went astray?

And yes, the coolant pipe quote was $2,570 + tax. Looks like I will just schedule it with my indy ... at his convenience.

Don - Do you have a good Indy that you work with ... all be it near Spring Lake
