Aircon hissing noise

Hi everyone,

i noticed a very strange sound from the ac unit , when turn on i heard a hissing noise from the middle of the dashboard , when off the noise just goes off . i checked the ac system and found out there was no leak the gauge reading is just nice , i try to decrease/increase the amount of refrigerant but the result still the same .

Could it be the expansion valve making the noise ?????

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank

Ditto with my car. Dealer changed expansion valve while on warranty but sound soon came back. Problem never really solved despite numerous attempts. Now I just live with it. I only notice when temperature is about 15 deg Celsius down. In hotter weather i do not hear it. Do post if you solve the issue.
