Hmmm.... I wonder if this wheel/tire combination will fit other narrow body 996's? ;)

Interestingly, a British magazine traded off the new Pilot Sport 2's that came on the car for the Rossos because the Pilots were too squirrely at the limit on the track. I was surprised that the Michelins weren't superior...

The June issue (#111) of 911&Porsche World has a "review" of the new Michelin Pilot Sport II N1 as spec'd on the new GT3. It is somewhat of a disappointment as it just reports on one journo's experience at a Michelin sponsored event at Paul Ricard. There is mostly quoting Michelin on the performance, though, since someone stuffed an RS6 into the Armco and stopped the festivities. Michelin says of the Pilot Sport II: "greater emphasis on grip and steering precision", "more rigid than before=>better grip", "larger tread blocks on the outside shoulder", "on a dry circuit an unspecified 320hp sports car (!) with the new Pilot Sports could lap fully one second quicker than precisely the same car with the old tyre"

We shall see........... <_<

The new GT3 wheels are available now.

Just before the release, PAG almost doubled the price of what they initially wanted for the wheels.

If you had quotes from a dealer you better check again before placing an order.

The wheels seem to have the correct offset for the 996 narrow body.

Some manufacturers offer the same offsets however with 225 and 285 tires.

Cool I know that 295's fit in the rear and the main issue with most rims is the offset for the rears

Thanks for the welcome. But, what knowledge are you referring to? Compared to Loren, I know nothing. ;)

Welcome to RennTech.org, Viken. I've respected your knowledge and appreciated your no-nonesense demeanor on other boards for some years. I am a waiter for a June/July(!)/August(?) build GT3 and help moderate the GT3 section.

Glad to have you here!

If the GT3 wheels/tires fit a 996 C2 will they fit a Boxster S?

No, the GT3 wheels will not fit the Boxster. I am not sure about the front wheel but the rear one will surely not fit.
