I just had my oil changed on my 2008 Carrera 2S and I've noticed that the oil pressure is almost buried at 5 bars constantly

on the guage whether the car is cold or when it is running with 200+ deg. of oil temp. I've checked the oil level and it seems

to be at the full mark however a couple of times it was over the full mark. Is this normal or should I have Porsche drain off

a 1/4 qt.

With key on,engine off does the oil pressure gauge read zero? If yes and it raises when the engine starts all should be well. Slightly overfilled oil level will not cause excessive oil pressure.

What is the oil pressure at idle with a hot engine?

Would a partially clogged oil filter cause the high oil pressure? I don't know if the location of oil pump or oil pressure sensor with respect to the oil filter, is it before or after oil filter?

Symptoms are similar to what I saw YEARS ago in an old Porsche immediately after an oil change.  The pressure gauge was HIGHER than what I was used to seeing.  Only until I replaced the filter did I see a NORMAL oil pressure.  Something must have clogged the filter up so you may want to try it.... does not cost that much anyways.  Make sure it is an OEM filter.

My oil pressure runs at 5 bar all the time I'm moving, drops to about 3 bar at idle after it is fully warmed up.  Nothing wrong with healthy oil pressure.  As long as you are doing regular maintenance I really don't see a problem.  I run my oil at the top level mark but if it was over that I'd drain a little out.
