I have had a little hit of recent, and my airbag explored, even though the hit is not something that serious that it should get the airport explore, but it does, the front passenger side bumper received a break but has being mend... now the car cannot start any more no crank, when i check for power on the fuse box at the side of the dash board, both driver and passenger side, there is power on this two sided fuse board, but the main issue here is that, there is no power on the fuseboard located under the hood or in the engine compartment, please i need help, i have checked all fuses located under the driver seat and everything seems alright, but i wonder why there is no single power in the fuseboard located in the engine bay and also the main terminal that goes on the start, has no power as well,,, so i need help, this has turn off my check engine or service engine soon light OFF as well,... i am sure if power comes on the fuse box in the engine bay, check engine or service soon will come up on the cluster... now all lights on the cluster comes on except the check engine or service soon... please i need help assiduously. thank you

Have you checked the circuit breaker/fuses under the left seat where the battery is located? If yes, how did you test them?

I used digital volt meter to test for continuity and even use test led pencil light tester to check also, and there is power flowing throwing the fuses under the driver seat, which is the left seat (wvicary) . everything seems fine on the car, except that power is not flowing to the engine bay, therefore engine does not crank nor start and service engine soon light is off... reading fuse information, i learnt that the engine fusebay is the main machinery that will give power to the ecm...

this is 6 cylinder 2008 cayenne

Hey.

I have latest development which i want to update..

I have gone back to check all the fuses under the seat of the driver, and i notice one breaker, which look like a relay with a wire on it, when i test the lead ends, power flashes, so what happend is i took the circuit off and bridge that section with a wire and now power comes into the engine and the engine starts but the steering is very hard to turn, when i scan the steering module, it says power supply not available, please i want to know which relay or fuse supply power to the power steering, on the cluster there is a round arrow aroud a triangle. to me this seems like steering is lock, please i want to know what to do to release it...

error code got, when i scan the psm are:

1314 - DME control module

1826 - Power supply, steering wheel electronics

when i clear or erased fault, dme control module went off, but power supply steering wheel electronics, is still permanent, please i need help as to what to do in order to get this free up and also what to do to make the steering wheel becomes free, for now it is hard to turn...

by the way when the accident occurred the airbag blown out, but i dont think this could cause the power shortage to the steering wheel

If all this happened at the accident scene then why not let insurance sort it out? The Cayenne is the last vehicle you want to be bridging power supplies across to test things if you're not very familiar with it's systems.

Well, i went back to check the circuit breaker again, just as wvicary said have i checked the circuit breaker.. what happens is, there is a circuit breaker that connect one main wire, very thick, close to the battery, which runs under the carpet to the engine, very thick, this circuit breaker, has a small two wire at the bottom of it, as soon as the key is turn to acc, the it gives a flash light, in the test led pencil which i am using and then goes on, so i gave 5.0 volt power to this main cable, while i tool the circuit breaker off. and went to the engine to checked, and i gain power in the fusebox right in the engine bay, so there i realize that the circuit breaker has a problem, even though when key is turn to acc, it flashes light and goes off, so i gave it a wire from one point to the other as a manual circuit, now when i turn the key on, all the way ignition and check engine light comes on, this start the car, now with the steering issue also, i also notice that there was no fluid in the reserviour, so i pour some fluid in it and allow it to bleed it self, and finally this solve all the problem, thanks all

i will like to know the name of this circuit breaker which has a two small wire going on it, i will post image here for easy identification, cos i need the part number to buy a replacement...

It may be a one-time use breaker.. on BMWs there is an explosive disconnect that disconnects all electronics except lights, windows, flashers - if the airbags go off. The "emergency" circuits are routed around it. When the disconnect blows, the entire cable must be replaced. Sounds as if Porsche does the same thing, but using a seperate device that can be replaced rather then having to replace the entire cable.

forumoto - you might want to check where the power steering fluid went to..

battery safety cable fired upon impact.

Does this vehicle actually use that system? I couldn't find any information on it.
