Hi everybody. I am loving the site and excited to get to be a part.

I bought a 2004 Cayenne Turbo and am having problems with the air suspension. It has a amber light on in the dash that shows a car with the up and down arrows. The CTT will not go up or down. When I push down on the selector it says the accumulator is charging. When I push up, it says that I have selected a height (or something like that) and then the arrows on the selectors flash red. The Cayenne seems to be at a elevated height right now but will not adjust. I can hear a air pump running toward the right front, but nothing ever happens. No other warning lights are on and it rides perfectly fine. It will allow me to change the shock setting if that helps any.

Any ideas?

That looks like it, but wvicary is correct there should be some codes to look at, do you know anyone with a DURAMETRIC ?

Unfortunately I don't. I am going to buy one though.

I went ahead and took it in and they said it needs a new air pump/compressor. They quoted me 1700 for it. Is that part I listed above what they are talking about replacing? The strange thing is, I can hear what sounds like an air compressor pumping. So I wonder if it just has a bad seal or ring and not letting it charge the actuator.

If I don't do it immediately, will it harm anything driving it like it is? It is in its normal stance right in the middle.

The way I read my link, was that was the actual full replacement assembly. Is it not? I am pretty mechanically inclined; is this a DIY kinda job?

Whats the best place to buy a Durametric?

Thanks again for your help!

i bought the pump kit from ecs, couldn't belive the price. looks brand new to me. and it includes the piston oring and the screws which sold for almost 200 at VW dealer.

put it in, problem solved. be careful when you hook up the air hoses. i had leak on one of them and had to redo it. the whold thing is located at the passenger side under the doors.

use some soap water to check for leakage after you done.

it is a diy job but if you have access of a lift, that will make it much easier.

hope that helps

I finally had a free moment to install my rebuild kit i ordered from ECS. Everything works perfectly now! Best $10 I have ever spent!

The dealer originally quoted around 1800 to do. CRAZY!!

Same here, that simple o-ring repair solved all my problems. I paid $165 for the VW kit, and was really happy paying that over the alternative of a new compressor. $9 is crazy!
