Sorry for the noob question.. I've narrowed down my engine cutting out to the Crank Position Sensor (Impulse Sender) and have ordered a replacement. But I can't seen to locate it for removal. I've located the following thread and picture from the forum, but I don't follow it. The thread mentions access from the wheel well/arch but that seems too far forward for the CPS. Loren mentioned "The crankshaft position sensor is in the engine bell housing surround the flywheel". While I know the general area, there are lots of pipes, etc. I'm not sure which thing is which up there? The picture in the thread is from an engine out of the car so I can't place where it would be installed and the access route.

I've searched and searched but can't find anything. Also the workshop manual doesn't seem to mention it.

It senses a magnet on the flywheel. It will be on the left side of the car - its really hard to miss as the wire and sensor look like they go into the flywheel housing.

Ok. I'll dig around in that area again. Lots of other pipes, etc. in the way on my 99 Tip. Perhaps it is easier from beneath the car.
