I am looking for an engine guard - something that will protect the engine block from damage caused by hitting the street in the rear. In the front they are called boomerangs and they are shaped to keep the front end from being damaged due to curbs. I need and want both the front and the rear pieces to protect my car. RennTech says Gembella and someone else makes them but I checked and they are not offered by Gambella. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

An original Porsche part exist, 99610798100 it's called engine protection skid plate.

I use the original Porsche part, but I don't think it would do much if the full weight of the car lands on something.

It might protect against minor dings or prevent some punctures/etc.

Better than nothing I suppose.

IIRC there is a much beefier aftermarket unit available, but I can't seem to remember who makes it.

Got the Porsche part and I am happy to have this extra protection. Part was $108 from dealer but what the hey, it's a Porsche. Thanks for all the help. Ed
