Roof has stopped working

Hi all,

Hopefully someone can help.

I have a 1998 Boxster Tiptronic and the roof has stopped working. When I release the the roof lever the windows drop as they should but I get no light on the dash to start the operation of lowering roof using the toggle switch. I have changed the roof microswitch and relay and checked fuses and still the same.

Any idea as to what is going on, I take it I have some issue with the Microswitch, even if I have bought a new one?

I have a similar problem. Handbrake light is working / windows drop when I release the roof latch but I get nothing when I press the button to lower the hood

I have noticed that the roof light on the console comes on when I unlock the roof release but then goes out quickly.

Should this not stay on?

Any ideas where to start looking?

The large double relay, in the relay box left and underneath the dashbord, is not always reliable. I would start measuring there, beware there are two types of double relay depending the MY of the car (986).
