oil level sender

I have an oil change planned for the weekend and whilst I'm in there I'm going to do the level sender as a precaution as I'm not 100% confident in its accuracy.

Part is already here but I'm struggling to find anything that illustrates exactly where the unit is on the engine?

Anyone been there and can point me in the right direction?

Is this fitted from the bottom or top?

It is the same as the 996 series.

Item 13 in the last diagram of sensor locations.

thats listewd as oil temperature sensor, I assume (and it looks like) this is also the level sender?

so thats going to be a remove intake and plenum to get to it then?

Yes, and you just need to remove the intake distributor on that side.

Porsche "book time" is only 20 minutes.

I guess for the level sender R&R, but what about the distributor/plenum? Certainly not 20 minute job. :)
