I've just replaced the lid drive mechanism (as the cable had snapped on one side), everything seems to work normally now except the roof won't open fully. It gets to 90 degrees and stops, ther front latch retracts and all stops. I've tried to set the potentiometer on the lid drive motor (6.2kohms) etc. but can't get it to open. Closes fine. I had to wind the side covers open with the emergency release allen key, so wondering if I need to do anything with them. I suspect I need to visit a OPC to have it calibrated, a bit frustrating really as everything was working fine until the cable snapped.

Does anyone know what I may have done wrong?

I'd suspect that recalibration is needed. When I took mine apart recently (same issue - damaged cable), I was always very careful to re-install the drive motor with the top and clamshell in the EXACT SAME position every time, so that nothing would get out of sync.

I have seen is "hydraulic fluid low" mentioned more than I would have expected.

Where does the fluid go? Does it evaporate? It seems if it was a leak you would see it coming out somewhere.

Most of the time are leaking pumps the culprit (# 4 in Loren's diagram) Oil is looking for a way down and drips along the mud flap on the ground.

There is a rebuilder in Texas -- but he is a ***. You are better off buying a new one -- $350. for a new unit is a good buy. I have one if you need a core for a rebuilt.
