Hi, I wonder if someone could help me identify this leak that has developed ... looks like this "plug" highlighted in the picture.

The tensioner can leak. They are sealed by an aluminum washer. Retorque the unit first and if that doesn't stop the leak then just replace the sealing washer only if you're familiar with the procedure which if done incorrectly will cause serve engine damage.

pin the engine at top dead center before removing any of the tensioners. Search "IMS replacement" for information.

Thanks for all the help.

Turns out once under the car both tensioners were leaking (1,3,5 was very bad).

Seals, rings replaced (while engine 'pinned'). All looks running good.
