hmm... porsche has these little holders that you could throw in. they weigh nothing. there's a pop out sliding cd tray and a hollow holder for like cigarettes or cellphones and stuff.

Porsche has a cover if you do not have a radio. Saw one on euro ebay a while ago but you should be able to order it.

You can also put a storage bin there.

1/4, I like the way you think. I just purchased a 10x10 inch piece of plastic from a stereo installer and cut a blank with a Dremel tool. I used a long screw at each corner to hold it in. It's lasted a couple of seasons of racing and still looks good.

Thanks guys!!!

I already did the console delete so the CD holder or storage bin from the console might actually fit ... just hadn't thought of that. Otherwise will take the photo to the Porsche parts department and see if they can come up with a number (thanks for the photo toolpants.)

Total savings for deleting the sound system+ cup holder in a GT3 is 8lbs. Both of these are competely worthless from a functional point of view IMO.

If you did not have the cd holder then there would be a bin in it's place. I think that bin is the one that goes in where the radio was. Don't think the bin below the cd holder will work.

A cd holder in a car with no radio....
