I can't say for certain but if it's anything like the “Cayenne” emblem on the back of the car you can use dental floss or fishing line and slide it behind the emblem. It will cut through the adhesive strip as you work it back and fourth. Once off, you can clean the area beneath with adhesive remover.

This is not a "recommendation" or “authorized procedure” (but it's what I would do :) ) BE CAREFUL!

I can't say first hand but I believe the 996 crest in held in place by a small " rivit" which needs to be ground off from the back, the the crest can then be removed. Please let us know as I am thinking on changing mine.

Yes!!! The CREST on the Airbag of all Cayennes is not glued!!! It has a rivet in the center attaching to the airbag cover. I took a chance this week and removed mine and replaced it with a silver/titanium and it looks great. I had to attached it with a 2 part epoxy and there is no way to come off!!!

I used a plastic pic to lift the site and and then a pair of pliers bend it. The crest is not metal it is a soft alloy. you need to bend it slowly and must use caution and patients!!!! once it was bend in the middle i used the dremel and cut the rivet and VOILA!!! Be very careful because the airbag cover might scratch and you will se the ugly black plastic under it. As far as getting the crest check out EBAY they have some good quality pieces and the sellers are Porsche owners. Some fit exactly in the airbag slot and some go over it. Good luck!!
