Hello,

Thanks in advance for your help. my driver window is not staying down when i open the door from either inside or outside handle. I mean, it lowers when i open the door with either handle, but as soon as i let go the window moves back up even if the door is open. I have not been able to find the exact problem by searching so thought I'd ask for help. can you help me diagnose / troubleshoot the problem please? thanks

ok, so after trying a bunch of different search words, it appears to be a broken switch mechanism in the door locking assembly itself. i see there are some good tech documents on replacement. thanks renntech!

it's the micro switch on the lock mechanism, the bottom of the part that acctually laches and hold the door closed, it wears out and prevents it from pressing the micro switch when the door is open. let me know if you need pictures i can take some if you want i have a lock from a previos swap.

no need for replacement just take the lock mechanism out, locate the switch at the bottom take it out. make the mounting holes a bit biger towards the top so the switch is closer to the actuating part of the mechanism and add some JB Weld let it set for 24 hrs and you are good to go.

Xavier:

Could you post photos to illustrate the part that no longer depresses the microswitch to which you are referring, along with the mounting holes?

Regards, Maurice.
