Hi guys I really need your opinion before I send the car to dealer.

I hooked up the Durametric to my 04 CTT and have the following readings:

Camshaft Deviation Angle, Bank 1 -13

Camshaft Deviation Angle, Bank 2 -5

Actual camshaft angel bank1 and bank2 was at -1 to 1 when car idles

and the car has P0016 code from time to time. I read on the forum that the deviation angle should stay in -6 to +6 range.

I replaced the timing chain tensioner today. It however did not change the deviation angles much. it decreased the angles about 1 degree.

then I swapped the camshaft position sensor of bank 1 and 2. It did not change the reading either. That means the sensors are okay.

So now, what am I looking at? replace the timing chain? new intake camshaft?

Please help me with this. I do appreciate that.

Sorry for bringing a 7 year post from the dead! 

Have you ever found a solution? 

I have a CTT 957 mid 2008 with a P0016 which comes from time to time - NO CEL! 

Deviation bank 1 = 10.5 - 10.9

Bank 2 = 3

Actual values are spot on both sides with the specified.

Hi there,

I am pretty concerned with this issue:

Bank 1 "camshaft deviation" starts from cold at 11.2 and goes down to 10.5 

Bank 2 "camshaft deviation" starts from cold at 3 and goes down to 2.7

 

Another interesting fact is MAF sensor deviation:

Bank 1 @ idle = 6

Bank 2 @ idle = 11

 

Bank 1 @ light throttle = 34

Bank 2 @ light throttle = 22

***just once I saw a fault combo:

P1081 Air mass ahead of throttle valve, partial load

P1094 Air mass ahead of throttle valve, implausible

 

All faults read with Launch X431PRO

As with nearly all Cayenne issues I think a good starting point would be checking and ensuring the battery/batteries and charging system are in good health and operating correctly 

 

I’ve been experiencing some weird drivability issues as well and the root cause is pointing to a possible/probable electrical system issue

Well for a month there has been no issues with the battery. I mean no dead battery or battery icon on the dash... Unfortunately there is no battery management unit to read as in the Q7.

PIWIS shows no under or overvoltage in any of the control units.

I've got a '06 CTTS with P0344. Swapped sensors and it stays on Bank 1. My deviation is around -13 on Bank 1 and -2 on Bank 2. Seems like Bank 1 is either the one that goes or is supposed to be further out? Occasionally Bank 1 won't even give a reading, and then when it starts reading again I can clear the code. Traced the Bank 1 sensor wires as good to the ECU so it has to be the cam adjuster or Timing chain, tensioners, guides worn? 100,000k miles. Seems like it should last longer than this. I do change the oil every 7~9k with a top quality synthetic.

I am not getting any ECU faults appearing with my dubious cam readings on bank 2 via Durametric.

Car is running well with full boost.

Any ideas?
