Hi Guys,

My indicator stalk refuses to stay put on right turn, I guess this is the common fault. If I'm replacing the unit anyway is it easy to retrofit the cruise too? The 4 stalk module is cheaper for some reason, plus it's a great addition to the car. What do I need other than the unit? Is it even possible?

I'm in a 2002 996 Turbo.

Thanks, Mike

Take a look at the cruise retrofit thread in the 986 Boxster DIY section. It is pretty much the same as a late model Boxster. 3 wires between the stalk and the instrument cluster, and one between the stalk and the fuse box. Drop me an PM with your email address and I'll send you the connection info and part numbers.

All fitted using the excellent instructions thanks Richard.

Doesn't work quite yet as I'm guessing it's wrongly coded by the independent, back we go tomorrow!

Lights up on the dash at startup but not when the stalk button is pressed!

Cheers, Mike

Get them to check the Input Signals for the cruise switch contacts on the instrument cluster (and the DME I think). Check that the inputs match the lever movements.

If they don't match, check the plug at the stalk end. Although the plug and socket are polarised, it is relatively easy to insert it the wrong way round.
