The drivers side radiator cooling fan is making a lot of noise. I have the repair manuals but I can not find anything on replaceing the cooling fan. Can someone point me in the right direction? I cleaned out the fan intake area just in case something was there but nothing changed so I ordered a new fan on line.

Thanks,

Joe

Are sure one (or more) of the fan blades is not hitting something?

It's pretty straightforward to change. Easiest is likely to remove wheel and wheel well liner on that side - then you will have access.

Loren,

Once I got the wheel well cover off, I found another piece of cowelling covering the fan area. It appears to be directly connected to the body by some screws. This needs to be taken off also but I can't find all the screws. It looks like it is part of the air intake (?) I have the shop manual but unless I understand what the part is, I'm afraid to go any further. Thank you so very much for your help...ps. When i rotated the fan manually, there was no clicking sound but when I start the car, the fan makes a lot of noise. I, therefore, assumed that the fan was the issue...

Loren,

It appears that in order to get the fan out, you need to remove the side wall liner and then remove the radiator bracket, air duct and air box. That looks like a much more involved job that I originally thought. Does this look right to you? Thanks again...you help is much appreciated!
