I am fitting a Dension DMP3A player to my 996. It will connect to the CD changer wiring. However, I need to run a cable for the satelite display from the front compartment to the main cabin to control the MP3 player. I would welcome any advice on how best to take this cable thorugh.

Thanks

If you remove the battery you will see a large round rubber plug. Make a hole in it to run your wire from the dash to the battery area. If you pull back the carpet where the cd changer is you will see another plug - do the same.

Then you have a way to run wires from the dash/radio area into the front trunk.

Many thanks for your help. Ran the cable today and all went well, apart from pushing the plug all the way through into the compartment. Couldn't get it back in myself due to limited access.

For anyone else running a cable, I was also surprised at how high the plugs appeared in the luggage compartment, compared to how low down near the floor they come out in the car! Either it is a spacial anomaly, Captain, or my eyes are wonky. I stood for a while not believing that I would be able to reach the cable I had pushed through.
