PET says the part number for the brake booster on a 987-2 equipped with PCCBs is : 996 355 923 00 (yes, 996)

The part number label on my PCCB equipped boxster spyder is : 997 355 025 11

Can anyone tell me if they are truly different parts, or just re-numbered parts?

Yes, the car is under warranty, but my inquiry is not related to warranty work. Here is the premise:

The brake pedal on 987-2s are notoriously known to have a soft feel and long travel. This is not ideal for use at the track. A partial fix to the problem is swapping out the master cylinder for a GT3 master cylinder. This fixes the long travel, but still does not cure the soft pedal feel. I have noticed on 986 boxsters the pedals are rock solid and very 'GT3-like'. The thought was: If I change the brake booster on my spyder to a 986 brake booster, will it cure the soft pedal? Accorrding to the PET, the brake booster on a PCCB equipped 987-2 is the SAME part number as a 986 boxster (996 355 923 00). However, if you look at the part number labelled on the brake booster on my PCCB spyder, the part number is different 997 355 025 11. Is my brake booster truly different than what PET specifies, or are they really the same part re-numbered? How can I find out? Thanks!
