Porsche has come out with sport mode retrofitting software for those of us that have a boxster without the chrono package. I am thinkiing seriously of buying it at a cost of $1150 but want to be certain that I will see a performance increase in the Boxster. I have a 2007 Boxster S with a 6 speed manual transmission. I have heard that the real performance comes if you have the tiptronic and PDK and that there is only increased throttle response gained if you have a manual transmission. For those of you that have factory chrono with a manual transmission can you please provide your input on whether there is in fact a noticable difference in the sport mode. Thanks.

I have an 05 with the chrono package, I have not done any real testing with it but when you push the sport button there is a big difference in the way the car drives, Mine is a base (non-S) with the 5 speed manual. On my dash mounted stop watch the small hands fell off of it so it is worthless for over a minute.

When sport is pushed the PSM comes in much latter, it even lets you drift it a little before coming on. The Throttle response it totally different.
