Well, nearly 40 years since I bought my first Porsche, I bought another..... 2008 Cayenne S w/60K mi. WOW! it is great....

  1. How much play in the steering? I notice a slight amount of free-play in the steering while cruising (~ 1/2" or so). This may be designed to keep some drivers from constantly weaving......
  2. Color is Meteor Grey, I notice the paint was sprayed differently on the front fenders than on the doors. I really noticed this at night in a parking lot, the lights created definite differences in the color. Upon closer examination during the day, it appears to be both front fenders..... Some pictures on the internet seem to show the same thing.... Anyone see this too? There really doesn't appear to be any repairs.
  3. Get this, I ordered a mObridge Bluetooth/iPod to install.... FedEx delivered it yesterday, 1:00PM on my porch, mailman saw it at 3:00PM, it was gone when I got home at 6:00......

A friend who works for FedEx mentioned the other day that some thieves are following the delivery trucks around, and un-delivering the packages shortly after they're dropped on a porch.

Do have to wonder what a thief is going to do with a mObridge.. you might ask the vendor to send it signature required next time..

No play in my steering. A common source of excessive movement and some noise is the rear lower control arm bushings.

Odd FedEx would leave a package without a signature. That is how they work up here where I live.

Well, there was no signature required, therefore, I guess the driver leaves the package at the risk of FedEx. The driver indicated he has to pay 25% of the claim..... Interesting, I heard that some do follow the FedEx/UPS trucks looking fo left packages. In my case, FedEx delivered at 1:00PM and the mail carrier saw the package there at 3:00PM..... There are some kids that are friends of the neighbor ....... questionable in nature.... The shame is the mObridge will probably end up in the trash somewhere.... not easily turned into cash!

As for the steering, It seems to be from the steering column to the steering rack. On the early 911, I could adjust the free-play in the steering rack.
