What causes this? Turn key and it sounds like a dead battery. Remove key and try again, works every time. No codes stored nor any warning lights. Idle is a bit grumbly for my tastes. 103kmi. Factory CPO until 100kmi. Sorta stumped and don't wanna start throwing parts at it.....

Battery is brand new. 2500 mi on it. I'll test it but the starter was my guess. I also have clicking front axle CVs when it's cold here in Dallas. Temp goes up and clicking on tight/locked turns is minimal.

Is your vehicle equipped with two batteries? The optional second battery is used for starting and located in the spare tire carrier area.

I have been curious if I have the 2d battery, any idea what the option code is? My books are 100% complete and there's an option sticker on a booklet included.

Thanks Loren! Looking at my vehicle identification printout sticker on my service manual there are no 4 digit codes, only three digit codes. Maybe that is a dealer service sticker?

I had a very similar issue at around 135k miles and it turned out to be a primary fuel pump failure, took a while to diagnose. Loren can probably attest to the price, but it cost less than $400 for the pump.

On the stickers they just print the last 3 digits.
