I have a squeak in my right side window up where it meets the rubber trim. While looking around to find the source, I noticed there is an adjustment device located in the joint in the B-pillar adjacent to where the two pieces of rubber moulding join at about middle top of window. The adjuster is a little plastic cone placed on a threaded bolt with lock nut. I tweaked this adjuster several turns and didn't notice any changes in top alignment. I put it back to original position and put a dab of silicon grease on it for possible squeak.

What is this adjuster used for?

Thanks.

Pierre:

That adjuster is meant for adjusting the position of the two black metal parts of the frame on the edges of the convertible top relative to each other.

You might try to adjust the position of the window by means of the adjustment screw and/or the adjustment provided by the base of the legs of the window regulator. You can perform either of those adjustments without removing the inside door panel, by means of the access holes provided under the door.

If you want to try those adjustments, do a search here for an explanation and photos that I posted about two years ago. If I find the posts, I'll post the links here.

Regards, Maurice.

Thank you for the answer Maurice. I did check the adjustment per thebently service manual. Alls good. I ended up spraying silicon on a terry cloth towel and cleaned the grove of the moulding. It was quite dirty and noise is now gone...
