Hi there, I just put new seat foam in. Not too bad, $84 a side from Sunset, easy to do, there are white plastic connectors, 2 each per side, right under the front of the seat, just pull the pins out and you can remove the cushions.

I did break the pass side seat switch. They disassemble, but you don't have to take them apart to get them removed. Whoops. I broke the plastic switch that controls the bottom, not the electronic switch, the plastic one that goes on the outside. There are four small switches on the inside, they have small springs and a "cup" like thing that the springs go into. I lost one of the cup things.

The new switch is around $500, whoops! Any chance on buying the small bits that I need? I was thinking that maybe Audi or some other manufacturer might sell them.

Thank you!

Joe

Passenger side or Drivers side? Partial power or full power? Lumbar? Keep an eye on eBay as they are on there all the time. Here is one now but it might not be the right one for your car.

Also try the used parts suppliers, DCAuto, Oklahoma Foreign, etc.

Hi Joe, just a question: why did you decide to replace the foam in the seat? I am amused by the "buttprint" I leave when I get out of the car and it seems to not completely go away. I bought the car used, about 8 months ago. I would be considering doing the same swap, without breaking the switch, of course...

Thanks for your input.

Gyorgy

BTW I almost ate it to work yesterday on some black ice while finishing passing avehicle. I was impressed how well the Pirellis (Wintersport 240) regained traction at 75-80 mph.

Hi Gyorgy, my seats had just seen way too much ham. A bit saggy they were. The foam swap is easy breazy, the seat cushions come off without any seat frame diassembly and it very easy to replace the foam. I was lucky and found a switch missing the horizontal button for a 25 bucks, good as a new one is 500 and the wreckers want 250 for a used one. The connectors were a bit tricky, you pull a piece out on the side and then they swing out. Made the seats feel like new.
