I've just discovered a very small coolant leak at the bottom of the engine just below what I believe is the pulley for the water pump. When parked it leaves about a dime size puddle on the ground after a night. When I check it, there is never more than a single drop hanging from the bolt just below the pulley at the lowest point.

Any ideas as to what the problem/solution would be? I did just have the serpentine belt changed a short while ago.

Twelve year old car - check the condition of the hoses and replace any that are soft or leaking.

If the hose are all good then you likely have a leaking water pup.

Not sure if you have solved this (hope so as its a couple months old :) ) but for anyone else in a 99 996 (and maybe some newer) finding coolant leaks my shop just changed a passenger side coolant plate and gasket. I was also told another common problem is the coolant expansion tank is prone to crack/leak - water pump is obviously closer to the driver side. Ill try to link to a picture of the "before" repair (not the greatest shot but leak is visibile)https://docs.google....2VnBtMS1SVWI4QQ

What's interesting to me about that cap is why there are not 3 or 4 screws on it. It only has 2, and this leaves two of the edges without as much clamping force. If it had more fasteners I bet it would not leak.
