My 2000 Boxster base had a leaking oil filler tube. It was leaking at the middle joint, directly above cylinder 3. I read several posts here on RennTech about how to replace. There are two approaches to replacing this tube that I found. One approach is to access the rearmost hose clamp from the bottom of the car. Several other posts talk about removing the air intake plenum from top and approach rearmost clamp from bottom.

These two approaches seemed wrong to me as removing the rearmost clamp from a bottom up approach seemed very labor intensive and required removal of several items for access.

So I took an entirely different approach and it worked beautifully. First I removed the "J-tube" connecting the AOS to the air intake, Then I removed (here is the novel piece) the secondary air pump. Only three bolts and a hose and wire connection. Removal of secondary air pump took five minutes. With the air pump out I was able to "feed" my right arm right back to the rearmost clamp on the oil filler tube. I used a set of hose clamp pliers with extended reach. Worked like a charm, got the rear clamp off in 10 minutes.

The old filler tube was difficult to remove as it was "formed" into place by the clamps. I used a utility knife to carefully cut the old filler tube from the piece that connects to the engine block. Take great care not to cut the front tube! This made removal of the old tube a snap.

All in all this is a fairly simple DIY repair job as it took me less than two hours.
