Hello,

The standard pse and cats of my 996 4s are gone according to my Porsche Center here in Reunion Island in the indian Ocean.

Considering the price of a new system (8.000 € here !), i am thinking about buying a complete exhaust system from a well know german tuner (Cargraphic) at a much better price (2.000 €)

Do you know these systems ? How would you rate them ?

Do I need to get some mods on the ecu as well since the exhaust system will be different (better flow since less cells in catalyst system)

The engine sign is lit at the moment because of the issues I have with my standard exhaust system.

Once the Cargraphic sport exhaust and catalyst system fitted, i wonder if it will stay on or not ?

I suspect it will because the monitor will get different datas as it is used to since it is a more laxist exhaust ? What do you think ?

Anyone can help ?

Thank you very much.

The cargraphic system will work fine with no mods. You will not need the ECU re-mapped soley becasue of the new exhaust. Without knowing what the codes are that is causing your check engine to come on it is impossible to predict if the light will go out after you change the exhaust. If you are throwing a code because of bad catalytic converters then the new exhaust will fix the problem. Once you install the new system have the codes cleared and let us know if they return.

Nearly all of the aftermarket exhaust systems advertise that they will not cause a check engine light to come on. Having owned one myself I can vouch for this.

I certainly agree with Tom, retrieve the check engine light codes to be certain what the issue is.

Thanks for your answers.

The check engine light is on because of issues with the catalyst converter.

A new exhaust system with by Cargraphic should therefore solve any issues I might have :-)
