When you install the PSE system without the electronics to turn it off when under a certain MPH, does it mean it will stay on all of the time to have the sound or is there something you need to do to keep it open to make it louder as opposed to the quiet mode?

Thanks

The "default" setting for the PSE is "open all the time", i.e., if there is no vacuum line attached, the baffle remains open (under pressure from the spring which acts on it).

On my PSE, which I bought "pre-owned" (LOL!), the sound got much better after repeated bouts of driving with the engine remaining between 4K and 6K A LOT!

Before that, we has started to doubt whether the valve was indeed open.

Regards, Maurice.

I also got mine off someone upgrading to an aftermarket set up and also installed it without wiring--open all the time and it's a bit louder and deeper with more of a growl than stock when idling but doesn't feel obnoxious. One thing you'll notice is that even without the wiring, it gets significantly louder at around 3300-3400 rpm (variocam maybe?). Quite lovely.

Did you buy it already? If not, check out www.fdmotorsports.net. Highly recommended. Excellent quality work. Incredible sound at a fraction of the cost. I haven't seen one bad review and I love the mufflers I bought from him. The sound is intoxicating and everyone I know agrees.

Or just have them done locally like I did... Worked perfectly, no shipping and the sound is wonderful....finally sounds like a Porsche instead of a sewing machine :)

Thanks for everyone responding. I have the PSE installed just making sure it was on. It does sound better than stock and for sure around 4000rpm it sounds really good.
