I was in the process of fixing the high pitched squeal of my AC blower motor and found a black box attached to the back of the glove box. It carries the Porsche part number : 955.610.107.02. The word "gateway" intrigued me and am just curious as to what this is. It was found on my 2006 Cayenne S.

Sorry Loren, it is rather the CANBUS system gateway control box, MOST is optic IMHO.

Thanks for the replies.

I am researching devices to allow my iPhone to work through my audio system. Dennison refers to a "gateway", so when I saw that indicated on the component I was curious as to it's purpose.

Regretfully (possibly only in this case), my Porsche experience is limited to 993 Cup cars that I set up for Club racers years ago, None of those had audio systems. This is something new to me.

Could you direct me to any information that would help me understand what I have in my Cayenne and what is the best way to acccomplish my goal of iPhone conectivity?

Thanks again.

Search the site. There are a few options to connect the iphone to the Cayenne and all have been covered here before.
