I just found out that the back window of my 04 Cayenne opens up during low temps (-5 to -15). I contacted the dealer and they told me they had over 30 calls in the last 5 days for the back window opening and will not close tight (it closes but it rattles and the warning light comes on and interior lights stay on) The problem is the sensor that is installed in the rear window windshield wiper is seciptable to low temps (here in New England we had temps around -20 F the last 2 weeks) and the sensor craps out. Porsche USA has a back order of them and will not be available until Feb 16. Until then stand by!!!! I thought I would share this info.

Regards,

Kostas

I had the same problem in So. Cal. weather last month. It was very annoying to have the continuous warnings and the dome light staying on. The dealer fixed it immediately. It looks like I was lucky to avoid the parts shortage.

I also had the same problem. I live in Montreal, Canada and it seems that the problem is related to a water infiltration. My dealer said they had a new way of installing the part and sealing to avoid water infiltration
