I managed to bugger up this horseshoe-like part that provides resistance when screwing in the hard line to the stainless steel brake hose. Is this part an off-the-shelf item at an auto part store? Or will it be a Porsche only part? Thanks for the help.

Purchased both part numbers below from Suncoast. Unfortunately, neither is correct/corresponds to the part needed in photo above. Fortunately, they're allowing me to return the parts. I'm going to follow up with Suncoast again, see if we can nail this down.

Not Correct

986-501-815-00-GRV

996-501-815-02-GRV

Doug996InKC,

I checked PET and the number posted by Logray is what it shows. Just checking though, the first part number in your latest post starts with 986, is that a typo or what you ordered?

I see 99650181500 superceded to 99650181500-GRV and 99650181502 superceded to 99650181502-GRV as potential parts.

That part comes with the hard line. Item #6 in the parts diagram is the hard line and the "clip" that you need. I just replaced the hardline on my 996 when I stripped the fitting using a cheap line wrench. The hardline came with a new clip. I still have the old clip in pretty good shape if you're still in need.

I see what you mean, the 'horseshoe" does not go on that end of the line. Part #6 is a $12 part, 99635558601
