I am taking my 2011 Carrera S to its first driver ed event in a couple weeks. I am looking for an inexpensive way to put on temporary numbers. I can't use white shoe polish which I used years ago. I've had poor luck with magnetic numbers (blew off)and since I don't have a permanent number I don't want to buy vinyl numbers for just one event. Can I use racers tape? Masking tape? Is there any problem with paid damage using racers tape? Any help would be appreciated.

Blue painters tape works great and does not leave an adhesive mess. Racers tape is a lot like duct tape - real sticky, but in my experiecne has not removed paint, but it leaves a good bit of residue behind. In one of the DE groups I am active in, we use liquid chalk on the windows. Stays on good - need a razor blade to get off, but no damage.

Here is a link to car numbers.

I have used the magnetic numbers on the doors. The

magnetic ones do not stick to the hood. I always install

clear masking tape to the leading edge of the magnetic

number. The number removes easy after the event

and I peel off the masking tape from the sign and/or door

if it splits when removing.

The vinyl ones work good on the hood.

Thanks for the suggestions. I went with the blue painter's tape. It worked well, even on my blue car. It was cheap and easy to take off.
