Window Issue

Hello,

I have odd problem with my passenger door lock/window. For one when I lift the the outside/inside handle the window does not drop the 10mm its suppose to. The other problem has to do when I manually unlock the car with key on the driver's side door. If I do not put the key in the ignition soon after unlocking the alarm sound goes off making it think the car is being broken into .. Go any suggestions? I know that the window not dropping can be either the inside/outside handle microswitch OEM-99661312300 ...but what is your take on the alarm sounding when I unlock. What microswitch is in control of the lock to tell the alarm that it was unlocked by a key.

Not sure about the window problem but the alarm sounds like it is working normally. All of my Porsches would do that.

alarm is normal. key must be used after a few days of car being left with alarm on. don't recall number of days at the moment.

window situation sounds like the switch. good luck.

After 5 days the fob won't work. You'll need to open it up with the key and then insert the key and turn it a few notches (or start it, cant remeber) within 15 seconds or the alarm will start.

Do a search. There have been lengthy discussions of this issue. Basically, there are 3 micro switches in each door that control window droop / reversal.

- one in each handle Inside and out that droops the window when the handle is pulled .... and holds it in the drooped position until the door jam latch opens and releases. At that point, control passes to the switch inside the door latch assembly until the door is closed again.

- a couple of years back, I posted a step by step for removing the door panel and exposing these micro switches. In my case, I had to replace the latch assembly with its internal switch. Since the other two door handle switches were relatively inexpensive, I replaced them at the same time.

Also; does it *try* to lower the window?

You can test this with opening the door and holding the handle open and gently (GENTLY) trying to push the window into the door. If it goes down and letting go of the door brings it back up, you have a worn out window regulator.
