Water Leak in Cockpit

Okay I read all the prevoius posts on this topic but none fits my situation. I get water leaking into the passenger side floor when it rains. The interesting part is the lower door carpet,(bottom of speaker), is also soaked. It would appear the water is coming from inside the door and draining into the cockpit. Anyone had this happen?, or any ideas?

This is not an uncommon complaint on the UK message boards since they have so much rain.

The first thing to check is the door 'membrane' which is really just a thin plastic cover to keep water away from the door panel. It is glued in place so that water does not seep to the door panel.

Most vechicles also have drain holes. While your in there double check to see if any of them have become clogged.

Thanks for the info. I'll pull off the interior panel and take a look. By running a water hose on the outside window I couldn't get it to leak and thought it might be leaking from lower door seal, but what you're saying makes more sense.

If you look/bend over the lower door seal you will see 2 slits in the sheet metal that are drains. They are hard to see.

You should also make sure the drain on either side of the battery is clear to eliminate that as a source.
