Dear All, first post here so thank you for your patience. Last week went for a good blast (but not crazy)in my 996 C2 (1999) and close to home the tiptronic gear change leds started flashing. The gears seemed to be changing ok although I only drove it very slowly the last mile back and so not sure how it is behaving at speed. I got home, turned the engine off, restarted and popped the car in reverse which produced a definitive jolt, but no unusual noises. I have my local indy taking a look at it this week but today I thought I would start it up again to see if lights were still flashing. They were along with the engine management light on amber. Does anyone have a clue as to what would cause both tiptronic and engine management lights to come on? All answers gratefully received! Many thanks in advance.

thanks hopefully I will get the codes on weds, i was just wondering as x2 different sets of lights have come on, whether that would help narrow down what the problem was? I will let you know what the garage says on weds...fingers crossed

Problem is that there are many reasons why you could get the combination of lights on, without the codes, you would be going on a guess…………

I have a 99 C2 with Tip. On two occasions the Tip lights were flashing. If I remember correctly you couldn't use the Tip function, shifts were a bit rough and it wouldn't shift into 5th gear. I visited the local dealer and the took it in and reset it for free.

They commented that it could have been caused by a low state of battery charge. The next time it happened I put my code reader on it, it showed a code and was able to reset it. It hasn't happened since but I make sure I keep a battery tender on it when I'm not using the car very much.

Good luck with the problem.
