I haven't seen anything like this. I'm collecting data on coolant pipe failure and tracking it. This stems from my own curiousity but maybe it will show some good results. I have the same thread on 6speed at http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/cayenne/251205-coolant-pipe-data-points-please-contribute.html It doesn't matter - Post here or there

Please include Model, Model year, date of failure, mileage at failure, and location

Thanks!

I will be starting this job tomorrow on my fathers 04 Cayenne S. Just bought the whole replacement kit from Porsche UK.

Driven by curiosity. I'm an engineer and like to plot data. I'm curious if trends more to location, age, mileage, CS vs CTT, etc

This was a failure in my case - thats the only reason I discovered about this common problem. 70k miles on a 2004 Cayenne S.

Mine were already replaced when I bought it, no idea if it was preventative or failure, but I assume it was from failure since the car only had 49k on it, and it's been driven exclusively in hot southern states.

I did mine preventatively. It looked fine when I took the old one out (as in no signs of cracking anytime soon). 2004 CS with 55k miles California car.

I got mine with 71,000 miles on it and the major coolant pipe service had been completed. Car was in Hawaii most of its life with a year or so in Oregon. The rear engine exterior coolant pipes failed around 69,000 miles and were replaced by the previous owner as well. 2005 CTT.
