Cab Plastic vs Glass rear window

I'm doing my research to pick up a 996 cab C2 or C4 [s?] sometime later this summer. To all you cab owners with the plastic rear window - how much do you notice it? My current convertible has a glass rear window and I'm debating how much I'd miss it.

I have the plastic window and find it to be pretty much useless. I've read that the glass window is a bit better but is actually smaller. Most of the time, I have the top down so it's not much of an issue. I use the hardtop from October to May. I guess you may have more issues with a plastic window in Seattle.

No question about it, whenever possible go with the glass. First, with the glass you can use the rear defroster. If you live in a humid climate (I live in Florida), you will use the defroster often in the morning. Also, the plastic windows eventually yellow and crack. I owned a boxster in the past and had water leakage via a small crack in the plastic window. If you have (or are going to purchase) plastic, take a look at GAHH convertible top replacements. The quality is excellent. The fit and finish is close to original, except the rear window is a little smaller. I currently have a used 996 1999 with a replacement GAHH top and am very pleased.
