Can anyone recommend a good source to decode the option codes for early 911's? I have the build sheet for my 1973 911E and would like to confirm and decode the options that came with the car.

While most of the options are well described, there are a couple (such as "G03" which is only described as "559, 568" - a pricey $743 option).

Many thanks for anyone who can provide a good source!

Looking for paint code by VIN? 1982 911 sc Targa.

Thanks

To my knowledge paint has never been part of the VIN. You need to find the paint code plate on your car.

On that year it is usually in the front trunk behind the carpet on the inner fender/chassis.

Sorry to be off topic here, but is there any where in the forums instructions on how to read the plate that is in our trunks behind the carpet? Some of it makes sense though it's in German but some doesn't. Thanks.

You can add them here (as long as the sizes are reasonable).

When writing a message just click on the "Click To Attach Files" button below the text area. You can then place the image anywhere in your post (or it will default to the end of your post).

I'll give it a shot. This seems the best shot I have.

From what I know about the history of the car from the previous owner, is it's a 1976 911S with a Turbo body. California car brought over from Russia I believe, (he was Russian). Later I found out he passed away from criminal activity as told to me by the Wessiach Porsche shop up here when I last took the car in. So, it's got some history :)
