Hi,

Before I start...this is a 2000 non-S with 34K. I never have gotten any code but P0134.

I am getting an occasional CEL and when I scan the car I see only code P0134. If I do nothing the code always clears itself in about 2 hours of driving. I may be imagining this but it seems to occur when I start the car and only have it run for a few seconds like when I pull it out of the garage and then restart the car and start driving. It also is always low speed when it comes on. I have read other posts and seen where Loren posted the following causes for the code...

P0134 Oxygen Sensor Ahead of TWC, Bank 1 – Interruption of Signal

Possible causes:

– Wiring harness

– Oxygen sensor

– DME control module

My mechanic looked at it for any obvious signs of harness problems and said he saw none. So, what should I do? Wait and see? Replace the sensor?

Also, does anyone know how ling it takes for the computer to reset the CEL after the P0134 illuminates it?

Jon

If you have ohm'ed out the harness then it could be a bad O2 sensor. It could be intermittent when cold.

Not a huge expense but it may solve the problem.

The sensor has a test diagnostic (voltage should read between 100 and 800 mV, ohmmeter on pins 1 & 2 should read 1.8-2.5 ohm, pin 1 to sensor housing should read infinite ohms ), test it to see if it is good or not; if it checks out, you probably have a wiring issue elsewhere.
