As a fairly new Porsche owner, I found that for the layman, the Cayenne can sometimes blend into the crowd. I am hardly a snob but I thought it would be nice when pulled up to a stop sign, someone could look aver and make no mistake that you were driving a fine automobile.

I like the badges on the fender. Just curious what other owners think.

I don't like it at all and could care less if others recognize my vehicle or what they think of it but each to their own and just my two cents.

is that a prancing horse? are you driving a cayennetta?

I sorta wondered that also.. :)

Perhaps he could buy two Porsche hood ornaments and glue them to the sides..

BTW - along the same line - can anyone think of a possible reason Porsche didn't put their moniker on the tailgate? Are they ashamed of the Pig? The only "Porsche" there - is a sticker on the glass right under the 3rd brake light, where it can't be seen from the inside OR the outside.. Only way I've seen it is by opening the glass seperately from the tailgate. Mebbe that's a Titanium thing. Thought about buying the letters from Sunset - but then have to find the titanium paint to make them match the Cayenne/S..

I used to have fender shields on my Ferrari as well.... the operative phrase is used to. I do however identify with being a fan of Ferrari and as such have a scuderia shield on my liftgate... I'm not sure I would openly endorse any other mark that way on my other cars.

As far as letting others know that my Cayenne is a fine automobile, I think the colored crests on the wheels and hood and big silver Cayenne Turbo across the back do a fine job of getting the point across. I do think its odd that there is no crest on the rear also. But I sort of like the understated way the Cayenne presents itself... at least on the first gen.

Just my 2 cents here but... if they don't recognize your vehicle for what it is then it probably doesn't matter anyway... For me, I could care less if someone knows what I drive, its for me not them!

My favorite was when a guy came up to me in a parking lot and said:

'...wow, I've never seen a Porsche station wagon before....'

Now that was funny!

I could care less what people next to me think. I know i'm in a porsche and thats all that matters.

I kinda prefer the "It a giant magnet" look.
