I recently (this week) had a cable snap on my top and before I realized what was happening it tweaked the clam shell. Out of panic I took off the V levers without noting the position. I have everything fixed but need a picture of the V lever to know where to position them please...anyone?

Thanks

Did you look through the posts here in the 986 Boxster Top Issues and Solutions section. There are 18 pages of problems and solutions.

Any post with a paperclip has images attached.

Or better yet search this forum for "v lever" - I came up with 3 pages of results for "v lever"...

I did that and couldn't find any that had a specific picture of the position. Maurice who is the expert on this repair had suggested he could send a picture and I have sent him a PM and email but no response yet.

Thanks

Gary

Thanks Mike...this helps plus Wayne from Pelican Parts emailed me a picture too. I'm having a problem getting the lever to turn with the drill. I wanted to test the transmission before I put it in the car and when I attach the cable and attach drill to the other end, nothing turns? I have taken the transmission apart and everything seems to be where it should be and does turn without the plastic housing screwed on...any ideas please?

Thanks

Gary

It seems to be working...I didn't realize how slow the lever moves and how little it moves...for some reason I was expecting it to whiz round!

Everything back together and working better than I can ever remember...very smooth...just need to get the dent taken out of my clam shell from the twisting. Costs $168 to replace push rods and cables...beats the $2000 others have been quoted by the dealers.

Thanks to everyone for their posts...couldn't have done it without you.
