used engine fix for 996

I have an '02 996 cab. The car has relatively low mileage but apparently one of the cylinders is scored. There seems to be no local solution to repairing the damage and given the low value of the car it seems reasonable to try to find a used drop-in engine.What model years or engine series will drop in without modification?

Also can anyone point me to a reliable souce where I might find a used or rebuilt engine? Thanks for any suggestions or assistance.

No I hadn't and thanks for the link. I will investigate them and try to determine the most cost effective route. I still would like to get more information about a plug and play solution as well . I am in British Colmbia, Canada so I have to factor in things such as duty and shipping costs.
