I went to put my top up today and the first time it was a little sluggish...just thought with the AC on wasn't getting enough power. Finally got it to go up. Put it down later in the day and then when I went to put it up again only the passenger's side went up...the drivers side stayed closed. All of this happened before I realized so now I have a kink in the cover...ugh...how do I get to top to go down at least....I'm assuming something has happened to one of the cables since the motor is working...any help please?

Thanks

You mean the red ones? I popped both of them off so I could release the top but the clamshell is still stuck half way up on one side and almost closed on the other....see picture. How can I release the clamshell please?

Thanks

OK...after dismantling the clamshell so I could see what was going on, the culprit was the red ball joint...as suggested, it had broken on the drivers side....the bad news is I have a twisted clamshell which hopefully a body shop can straighten out....there are no creases just a big bend. I'll order the replacement parts tonight...metal type. Is there a way to check of the motor and transmissions are OK before I put everything back together?

Thanks for all the posts...on a side note, I found a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses that I thought were stolen about 8 years ago..they were $275!

After trying to find out what caused the red balljoint to break, I found the square drive broken off in the motor...hoping a replacement cable does the trick.
