Boxster mates,

Noticed a couple of fresh drips after a spirited drive in the sweltering Phoenix heat today. :drive:

How serious is this leak?

Can this wait for a few days before I can have it looked at?

What do you think?

:help:

Looks like coolant and there are multiple places it could be leaking from. I would check the level and get it sorted asap. Be sure to clean up the drips as it poison to pets.

Thanks for the quick response, wvicary! I will stop driving it and take it to the shop soon then - hope it is not too complicated of a fix. Cleaned up the drips up right away too..

How much in L or G of coolant is contained in the car?

Got the diagnosis today - cracked coolant tank and a broken hose adaptor - hence the two leaks. Looking at about $750 for the total.

The coolant tank is expensive and the process to drain and refill also is a little cumbersome and requires the right knowledge, so that is a little high, but probably not out of the ballpark - especially if you are at a dealer.

Thanks for the insights, logray. Based on my research, it seems quite a bit task oriented too.

Actually the work is to be done at an independent mechanic who has worked on it for the past 5yrs of ownership.

I've seen a DIY on this but somehow with the 11xF outside, not quite tempted to be in the garage working on this. 750 may be on the higher side, hoping to see it close to late 600.
