We're thinking about buying a boat, but the dry weight of the boat is 7000lbs, the trailer will be anywhere from 1000 to 1200 lbs, add an extra 200 lbs for gas/boat equipment and I am looking at 8500 lbs. The literature states 7,700 towing capacity. I have a TT, if this was my old Yukon I would just pull it,pull slow and always monitor the engine and oil temp, trany temp etc. But this is my Porsche! Any advice or warnings?

How loaded with the Cayenne be? If it's mostly empty I would pull the boat and just be easy on things.

Honestly I think if you drive carefully (like you stated above) you will be fine. Those numbers are there for the general public who just get in and go. However I wouldn't share this with the dealer, etc if you have still have a warranty

Don't forget those numbers are unloaded Pepper too. If it's loaded with 4 people and all your boating gear your way over the limit. Get a beater truck.
