Moving Cayenne w/o front diff in place

I have to drop the front axle final drive of my 2005 Cayenne S to have the unit repaired. After the car is off the lift, does anyone know if it would be safe to just lock the center diff and move it under power from the garage to a parking space a few yards away?

To avoid any issues -- if you are on a level surface to where you need to place the vehicle -- lower the vehicle from the lift directly onto roller/dollies under each tire and then have a few people push the vehicle where it needs to go, then remove the rollers. I had to do this once in my garage at home -- I borrowed a set of four rollers from a local garage.
