On Rennlist an owner had an AOS issue with his 05 997. My question is, is the AOS the same thing as the "oil mist collector" which is what I see

in Porsche Docs?

Also, how long can one expect this part to remain functional before the need to proactively change it out?

:thankyou:

Thanks for that. Can it be replaced without removing the trans or lowering the engine?

I looked around on the sites but found no procedure for it. I did find Boxster instructions. I assume

in the 911 there's no way to get to the upper part of the engine without lowering it,

in other words the interior panels aren't removable to get to the engine because structural

steel panels are welded there.
