Hi,

I have a 996 C2 Convertible on a 2002 plate. The only item that I don't like is that the car only came with the standard four speakers, two in the dash and two in the rear quarters. I have replaced a pair of the speakers but that didn't really do much. I have looked at aftermarket subwoofers to give me the bass that the other speakers dont provide but since the car is a convertible, this is very retricted. The other option is to source some door cards and associated speakers.

I have however recently managed to source a genuine BOSE subwoofer that is situated in the passenger footwell however I don't quite know how its attached and installed. The locations for attachment don't match upto any of the cars bodywork so I am assuming that I must need additional parts/connectors.

Does anybody have this option in their car or know where I can obtain a diagram detailing the parts and installation?

Part number 996.645.566.00

Right, I have been to Porsche and found out the parts that I need to make the sub fit. I have already installed an amp and tested the unit.

All I can say is that anybody with the standard 4 speaker system - go buy one of these units and an amp. You will be shocked how much of a difference it makes. I have also played around with the actual subwoofer and installed some wool into the box to get better bass clarity. It really works!

If anybody wants more information, please let me know.

Thanks.

Would you share exactly what you purchased (sub, and accessories to install) and where? I totally agree the car needs a sub of some sort to bring out the bass clarity of the factory system.
