Hi there.

Let me clarify you put a 2001 2.7 liter engine in a 1999 Boxster?

Why would you want to put a 1999 996 3.4L map into the DME if you have a 2.7 liter engine?

thats all dealer has to offer,2.7 remap would have egas and i have done away with e gas.

Problems is there are fixed maps for the cars Porsche produced - by emission requirements. So there might be 3 or 4 maps for a 3.4 liter 996 (maps are based on the emissions requirements). So they are "non-tunable" maps.

And, there wasn't a 2.7 liter 996 so the 3.4 map would be wrong for a 2.7 liter. You might get close with the larger 3.4 throttle body but still no guarantees that it would run right.

the car actually runs good with the 5.2.2 dme from previous 2.5. im just tryng to have resonance valve be actuated by dme.

i had read an older post from todd and corect me if i am wrong but he said that a 996 dme from a 99 would adjust without a problem with a 2001 3.2l.

how will it do with a 2.7 same year

Perhaps you will be the first to try?

I guess perhaps you could go the other way with a lot of re-wiring - source from a dismantler a newer DME (matching immo/alarm/etc.), a 2001 egas T/B and the correct map???

Yeah, LOL ... I never said it would be easy.

For what it's worth I've read some people intentionally cut the vaccum line to the resonance flap on the 99 996.
